One Crow for Sorrow

Yesterday a meme rocketed around the interblogs like I've never seen one move so fast. I saw it first at Niobe's; she'd gotten it from Painted Maypole.

It goes like this:

1. Click on this link.
The title of the page is the name of your band.

2. Click on this link.
The last four words of the final quotation on the page are the title of your album.

3. Click on this link.
The third picture is your album cover.

4. Take the picture, add your band name and album title and ta da!

It is eerie, no? I'll spare you my explication, but the translation of the band name is, more-or-less, "well born", and a single crow augers unhappiness.

PS: Artwork by Sheri Burhoe, from Flickr. The crow is available at her Etsy shop.

Yours rocks. Niobe's was very good too. Esp her band name.
The one I got when I did it at Niobe's was so weirdshit that I didn't think I should bother putting the whole thing together. The picture could only be made worse by adding my band and album names.
Hm... should I do it again here? I might get something less nonsensical in some way... But then it would be cheating, wouldn't it?

It's fun.

A similar one is at Net Art generator
http://nag.iap.de/?lang=en

Go to create and put in your profile name and your blog name, select the number of images and ....wait.

Addictive for a slow day.

Yours is one of the most impressive ones I've seen yet!

Do you know how much money music artists could save by just doing this meme? I can't say I've seen a bad album cover yet and yours is at the top.

That cover is amazing! I would definitely buy your album... :)

You're right. This meme is like splattershot. I think it's because there are no bad outcomes.

Damn. That's a good one.

I posted this comment about mine over at Haluski (whose own entry was hilarious):

I suspect that my band, Saskatchewan Canada, and our first album, "About Its Width and Depth", are not going to be huge.

I'm pretty sure we're descriptive geography soft rock.

On the upside, we have lots of beer and socialized medicine on our contract rider.

An interesting meme. I'm not sure if it was sort of morbid so not sure if I'll go there for me, though.

That is awesome, although my band--Ammonium Perchlorate Composite Propellant--is never going to catch on (maybe with its acronym, though, APCP?).

How did you get the text on the photo?

OK that's hilarious. I just posted that meme.

That's pretty weird. But it also makes me want to start a band. Maybe that is the omen: You have to start a band called 'Bien Nacido.'

Ay! Mine was semi-porn-ish (just what I needed, right?) But yours is very cool...

Ha! My first thought (to echo painted maypole) was also "nevermore.."

I've always liked Poe.
